All data is stored on our Pentium IV, 1.4 GHz dual processor server with 512 MB ram and 3-36 gigabyte hard drives utilizing a RAID card. All data is routinely backed-up each night automatically on a 20 GB storage tape. Our current business software includes MS Windows 2000 Professional, MS Windows 98, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, Word Perfect, Quattro Pro and more, MGI’s Photo Suite, Acrobat Adobe Exchange and MS Automap Streets Plus. Electronic data can be exchanged in a number of ways including by ASDL modem, email, CD-RW, CD-R, CD-ROM, 100 & 250 Mbyte Zip Disks and 3.5" floppy disks. Information can be shared with other CAD programs via DXF, WMF, DWG, TIF, BMP, JPG, GIF conversion files or merely converting the drawings to or from an old version of AutoCAD. Projects are produced completely on CAD. These computer files maybe of use to your facilities planning or maintenance staffs and are utilized for submission of projects to permitting and funding agencies such as the Office of Public School Construction for projects being funded by the State Allocation Board. Video camcording and digital cameras are used both to eliminate the need for repeated site visits during design and to document project conditions at specific times prior to and during construction. The video camcorder and digital cameras prove to be especially useful for remodel, modernization and reconstruction projects. SCArchitect, Inc. maintains its own in-house printing facility, which includes a HP Design Jet 750C color inkjet plotter, a HP DeskJet 1120C printer, a commercial grade blueline printing machine, a collating digital copier, an HP 270 digital color copier, a plain paper Facsimile machine, and Velobind and spiral binding machines. Our office Local Area Network (LAN) links this comprehensive array of available equipment to our computers and allows our staff to share data and work with accurate up to the minute information and to concentrate more of their time and efforts on important design and construction issues. Internet access also makes this information quickly available to our clients through email deliveries. Each employee has their own email address or you may reach the company’s general email at scarchitect@scarchitect.com. We are also on the web at www.scarchitect.com.
