FIRM PHILOSOPHY |
|
SCArchitect, Inc. strives to create architecture by harmonizing and balancing our clients needs by combining aesthetics, form and function while remaining concerned with the long term economy of the building projects that we design.
Aesthetics Form Function
Because the majority of our clients are institutions, which routinely occupy their buildings for more than fifty years, our process in designing of these buildings is much different than that used by other architects, who design for "build for sale" developers. We realize that for institutional clients, heating and cooling must be designed for the hottest and coldest days, not the "average" day. An air-conditioning system that almost works is not acceptable when the outside temperature reaches 115 deg. F. We understand that a low initial cost is little comfort to an owner who is faced with replacing large quantities of carpeting or door hardware within a few years of occupying a building. We strive to use all of the resources available to ensure that your building is functional and economical over the long term. We have found that some of the best information that we receive is from your maintenance and operations personnel. Who more than your own people, know what works best for your methods of operation? We propose to capture and utilize this valuable input from your staff to incorporate into your new facilities. We are aware our of clients needs for future growth as well as their need to remain current with today’s ever changing technologies. With the onslaught of the PC computer, the Internet and other multi-media we feel that it is essential to integrate infrastructure to allow upgrading and expansion without major re-design or even re-location. |
